The Summer Hikaru Died Anime Officially Announced!

Psychological horror series is in the works!

The anime adaptation of Mokumokuren‘s “The Summer Hikaru Died” has been officially announced. Along with this announcement, new illustrations from Mokumokuren have also been released.

Mokumokuren‘s manga “The Summer Hikaru Died” has been serialized on Kadokawa Shoten’s Young Ace Up web imprint since August 2021. The series currently has four collected volumes, with the fifth volume scheduled for release on June 4. Crunchyroll Manga describes the story as follows:

Two boys lived in a village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. The two did everything together…until the day Hikaru was encompassed by a mysterious light. That was when everything changed—Hikaru most of all. Yoshiki still wishes from the bottom of his heart to always stay by his side…but is there even a Hikaru left to be with?
