The story follows five dedicated employees at the lesser Tama branch of the secretive Calcal Group, an organization striving for world domination. Among them are an ambitious new recruit eager to prove themselves, a courteous yet self-doubting superior, a detached modernist with a cool demeanor, a passionate but warm-hearted senior, and a charismatic older leader guiding the team.

Goodreads describes it as:

Nothing’s surprising in the North household, not even Sterling’s new pet raccoon. Rascal is only a baby when Sterling brings him home, but soon the two are best friends, doing everything together–until the spring day when everything suddenly changes.
