The Summer Hikaru Died Anime First Anniversary Music Event Unveils Its Key Visual

Based on the manga by Mokumokuren.

The first music event for the TV anime The Summer Hikaru Died, based on the manga by Mokumokuren, has officially been announced. Titled “TV Anime The Summer Hikaru Died – 1st Anniversary Thanksgiving Festival Spun with Sound and Video“, the event will take place on July 5 at Bunkyo Civic Hall in Tokyo.

The special event will celebrate the first anniversary of the anime’s broadcast by revisiting the story of Season 1 through digest videos shown in chronological order, accompanied by live orchestral performances.

Voice actors Chiaki Kobayashi, who plays Yoshiki Tsujinaka, and Shuichiro Umeda, the voice of Hikaru, will appear as guests alongside TOOBOE, who performed the anime’s ending theme.

The event will also feature live dubbing performances by Kobayashi and Umeda. In addition, the two cast members will perform the chorus song “Shadows of our Days”, which was featured in the anime. TOOBOE is also scheduled to perform “you are my monster” in a special orchestral arrangement created exclusively for the event.

Advance lottery ticket applications opened today, May 15. Premium tickets include an original knapsack commemorating the anime’s first anniversary.

The Summer Hikaru Died is available on Netflix, featuring dubbing in 11 languages, making it accessible to audiences worldwide. Season one of the series aired during the Summer 2025 anime season, running for 12 episodes from July to September. A second season was announced at the end of September 2025.

Yen Press publishes an official English version of the manga and describes the story:

It has Hikaru’s face. It has Hikaru’s voice. It even has Hikaru’s memories. But whatever came down from the mountains six months ago isn’t Yoshiki’s best friend. Whatever it is, it’s dangerous.
