Dwango, the Japanese digital entertainment company behind the video platform Niconico, has announced a new DJ event titled “JAPAN MUSIC VOCALOID at Anime Expo 2026”. The event will take place on July 4, 2026, during Anime Expo in Los Angeles, one of the world’s largest anime conventions.
The showcase will highlight the evolution of Vocaloid music, bringing together influential producers from different generations. Early pioneers such as kz (livetune) and Hachioji-P, known for shaping the sound of Vocaloid in the late 2000s by blending electronic club music with pop sensibilities, will appear alongside modern artists pushing the genre in new directions.
They will be joined by special guest TeddyLoid, a producer recognized for his high-energy electronic style and collaborations with major Japanese artists including Ado and DAOKO.
The new generation of Vocaloid creators will also be represented. Satapan-P is known for his fast-paced, chaotic sound design paired with strong melodies, while picco describes her style as “Hyper Kawaii Music,” combining house influences with a colorful, pop-driven aesthetic.
The event reflects Dwango’s broader initiative, “Young Creator Discovery and Global Expansion Project through Niconico-led Initiatives“, which aims to support emerging creators and promote their international growth.
