Pokémon Horizons: The Series is teaming up with Pokémon GO to celebrate its upcoming 150th episode. The special episode will premiere in Japan on September 18 and will feature the heroes taking part in field research. It will also include a flashback showing how Friede first met his partner, Charizard.

As part of the collaboration, Pokémon GO players will be able to catch a special Charmander wearing Friede’s goggles from September 16 to September 22, 2026. The Pokémon can appear in the wild, through Field Research, Lure Modules, and GO Pass rewards. Shiny and Special Background versions will also be available.
Charmander can also be evolved into Charmeleon and Charizard, with all three Pokémon wearing Friede’s goggles.
The event will also include special raids, bonuses, and opportunities to encounter characters and Pokémon from Pokémon Horizons through snapshots.
The Pokémon GO event will run from September 16 at 10:00 a.m. to September 22 at 8:00 p.m. local time.
The latest series, Pokémon Horizons: The Series, introduces the franchise’s first completely new protagonists and originally premiered in Japan on April 14, 2023. It is directed by Saori Den and produced by OLM.
Internationally, the series debuted in English in the UK on BBC iPlayer in December 2023, followed by its North American release on Netflix on March 7, 2024. Its second season, Pokémon Horizons: The Search for Laqua, premiered on Netflix on February 7, 2025. Season 3, titled Pokémon Horizons: Rising Hope, began streaming on January 6, 2026.
