The Skip and Loafer Exhibition, dedicated to Misaki Takamatsu’s popular manga, will take place from January 2 to 18, 2026, at Exhibition Hall A in Sunshine City, Tokyo. To mark the announcement, a newly illustrated main visual by Takamatsu was unveiled.
The Skip and Loafer Exhibition will tour across Japan, with stops in Tokyo, Aichi, Osaka, and Ishikawa.

The Skip and Loafer Exhibition will serve as a crossover space celebrating both the manga and anime. Visitors will be able to experience the creative process behind the work, view the very first published manuscript, and enjoy specially prepared illustrations created for this event. Exclusive merchandise featuring newly drawn visuals will also be available for purchase.
Creator Misaki Takamatsu explained: “This exhibition is meant to let people enjoy both the unique qualities of manga and anime, and the differences in how each medium expresses the story.”
The anime “Skip and Loafer” premiered on April 4 2023. It’s an adaptation of Misaki Takamatsu’s manga series, published by Kodansha in Monthly Afternoon since 2018. The release date for Skip and Loafer Season 2 has yet to be announced, Crunchyroll has officially confirmed that it will be streaming the new season.

Iwakura Mitsumi graduated from a small middle school in the countryside and entered a top-tier high school in Tokyo at the head of the class. This child prodigy, who moved to Tokyo alone with a perfect life plan, is smart and gets good grades… but her social understanding isn’t quite on the same wavelength as others. This means that she sometimes makes mistakes, but her easygoing nature sways her classmates little by little, and all their different personalities are coming together before they know it. They meet and gradually come to know each other, and before long they understand each other well. Everyone experiences pent-up feelings and frustrations, but it is our friends who give us a chance at mutual understanding. This story may start out with some discord, but it becomes a happy school-life comedy before you know it!
