PRINCESS MONONOKE is making its long-awaited IMAX debut in a stunning 4K restoration. Starting March 26, audiences in the U.S. and Canada can experience Hayao Miyazaki’s epic masterpiece on the big screen, with screenings available in both Japanese and English. Tickets are now on sale.
Presented by GKIDS, this special release brings the 1997 classic back to the big screen with unprecedented visual and audio clarity, immersing viewers in its powerful storytelling and stunning animation.

The IMAX edition of the film was crafted from a newly restored 4K version, personally supervised by Studio Ghibli’s Atsushi Okui. A key figure in the studio since 1993, Okui has contributed to nearly all of its major projects.
His latest role was as Director of Digital Imaging on Miyazaki’s Academy Award-winning The Boy and the Heron, which also marked Studio Ghibli’s debut in the IMAX format.

Inflicted with a deadly curse, the young warrior Ashitaka heads west in search of a cure.
