My Hero Academia Live-Action Film in the Works at Netflix, Legendary

FINAL SEASON anime is set to premiere on Crunchyroll on October 4.

Jason Fuchs, screenwriter of Wonder Woman and Argylle, has been tapped to write the live-action adaptation of My Hero Academia, one of the best-selling manga series of all time. Netflix and Legendary are backing the project, with Shinsuke Sato, known for manga adaptations like Bleach and Kingdom, attached to direct.

Fuchs, known for his big-budget, heroic storytelling, is also co-creator and executive producer of It: Welcome to Derry, the upcoming HBO prequel to Stephen King’s It. He has acting credits in It: Chapter Two, La La Land, and TV shows including The Good Wife.

Since its debut in 2016, My Hero Academia has become a phenomenon. Now, as the final season looms, viewers are both excited and heartbroken to say goodbye to the characters and world that have become a part of their lives.

The final season of My Hero Academia marks the end of an era, both for anime fans and for the superhero genre in general. As we look forward to 2025, anticipation builds for the epic conclusion to one of the most influential anime series of its generation.

Kohei Horikoshi‘s original manga series debuted in Shueisha‘s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine on July 7, 2014, and concluded on August 4. All the released seasons are currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll!

Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers. That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered “quirk,” Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal. But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.
