HAIKYU!! Anime Announces Final Event “HAIKYU!! 10th Event -NEXT STEP-“!

The “HAIKYU!! The Dumpster Battle” exhibition, based on the anime by Haruichi Furudate, will be held from December 27, 2024, to January 22, 2025, at Matsuya Ginza in Tokyo. Following the Tokyo event, the exhibition will tour Japan, including stops in Ishikawa, Kanazawa, and Osaka. The event will showcase original art, goods, and footage from the film, and offer exclusive merchandise featuring event-specific artwork. Further details, such as ticket sales, will be announced at a later date.

As part of the ongoing 10th anniversary celebrations for the anime “HAIKYU!!“, the final event in the “10th Anniversary -Connect- Project“, titled “HAIKYU!! 10th Event -NEXT STEP-“, will take place on March 2, 2025, at the Ariake Arena in Tokyo. This event will have the largest capacity in the series’ history and will be split into a day and evening session. Notable voice actors Ayumu Murase, who voices Shoyo Hinata, and Kaito Ishikawa, who voices Tobio Kageyama, are set to appear. Further details about additional performers and activities will be announced in the future.

Toho animation returns to produce the two Haikyu!! FINAL anime films with the animation continuing to be made by the team at Production I.G. Haikyu!! FINAL anime film’s first of two parts, is subtitled “Gomisuteba no Kessen” (The Dumpster Battle).

Shoyo Hinata joins Karasuno High’s volleyball club to be like his idol, a former Karasuno player known as the “Little Giant.” But, Hinata soon finds that he must team up with his middle school nemesis, Tobio Kageyama. Their clashing styles turn into a surprising weapon, but can they beat their rival Nekoma High in the highly anticipated “Dumpster Battle,” the long awaited ultimate showdown between two opposing underdog teams?

Crunchyroll is streaming all four TV anime seasons of the Haikyu!! adaptation and describes the series as follows:

Based off of the original Weekly Shonen Jump manga series from Haruichi Furudate, Haikyu!! is a slice-of-life sports anime revolving around Shoyo Hinata’s love of volleyball. Inspired by a small-statured pro volleyball player, Hinata creates a volleyball team in his last year of middle school. Unfortunately the team is matched up against the “King of the Court” Tobio Kageyama’s team in their first tournament and inevitably lose. After the crushing defeat, Hinata vows to surpass Kageyama After entering high school, Hinata joins the volleyball team only to find that Tobio has also joined.
