The well-loved manga series Vampire Dormitory, currently being serialized in Nakayoshi magazine, is set to make its debut as a TV anime in 2024. Alongside this news, an intriguing teaser visual has been unveiled, showcasing the two central characters, Mito and the enigmatic vampire, Ruka.
The image of Ruka, poised as if ready to sink his teeth into Mito‘s neck, hints at the tantalizing romance that awaits. This exciting development marks a dual celebration of the 70th anniversary of Nakayoshi magazine and the 20th anniversary of the creator of Vampire Dormitory, Ema Toyama, the renowned author of Missions of Love.
The series is in the capable hands of Studio Blanc (known for their work on The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World), with Nobuyoshi Nagayama taking the helm as director. Scriptwriting duties are expertly handled by Toko Machida, while the character designs are brought to life by the talented Naomi Tsuruta.
Kodansha presents the manga like this:
Mito, who has no family to rely on, lives on the streets, disguised as a boy. Ruka, a vampire, saves her from a perilous situation and makes her an offer: become his subservient thrall from which he can feed whenever he wants, and she can live with him—in the boys’ dorm. Because her very existence depends on her secret not being found out, every day is a new danger—to say nothing of that vampire! Meanwhile, Ruka, not knowing Mito’s a girl, dotes on her night and day in an attempt to ripen her “disgusting male blood,” but when real feelings develop… this dangerous romance between a crossdressing girl and an obsessive vampire begins!
