Momoiro Clover Z Unveils Lyric Video for Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Danko Anime Opening Song

Japanese idol group Momoiro Clover Z has released its new digital single, “A Brilliant Showdown” which serves as the opening theme for the upcoming TV anime Hono no Tokyujo: Dodge Danko.

The song became available on streaming platforms on July 3, ahead of the anime’s premiere in Japan on July 6. The group has also released a lyric video featuring illustrations of the members drawn by original manga creator Tetsuhiro Koshita. The same artwork is used for the digital single’s cover.

The original Hono no Tokyuji: Dodge Danpei was a manga series that ran in Shogakukan’s CoroCoro Comic magazine from 1989 to 1995. It was later adapted into a 47-episode anime series, which aired starting in October 1991. The franchise also inspired several video games. A sequel manga, titled Dodge Danpei: Dodge Danko, has been published online on the Weekly CoroCoro Comic website since November 2022.
