Inherit the Winds Anime Gets Two-Week Theatrical Advance Screening in November

Tomohiro Kawamura directs the anime adaptation at Live2d Creative Studio and Drive Inc.

The theatrical advance screening of the original TV anime Inherit the Winds has been confirmed. The film will be shown in Japanese theaters for a limited two-week run starting November 13.

A new key visual for the theatrical advance version has also been revealed. The TV anime is scheduled to begin its regular broadcast in January 2027.

AniplexLive2D, and Drive are collaborating on the project, aiming to explore new forms of visual expression through the use of Live2D technology.

The anime is set in Kyoto during the Bakumatsu era. A soldier who has lost his memory is taken under the wing of the renowned Shinsengumi member Sōji Okita. Okita gives him a new identity, naming him Junsuke Tachikawa. Amidst the Mibu soldiers, Junsuke begins a new chapter in his life.
