GATE 2: Tides of Conflict has revealed its second key visual, introducing the main characters of the upcoming anime series. The anime is scheduled for 2027.
Alongside the new visual, the production team also announced a special collaboration with The VOCALOID Collection Summer 2026 to choose the anime’s ending theme song.
The collaboration will allow creators from around the world to submit original songs for the competition. The winning track will become the official ending theme for the TV anime. The ending sequence will be animated by Studio M2 and edited into a 90-second version for broadcast.
After the song selection, a vocalist for the ending theme will be chosen through another collaboration with Utaite Collection Fall 2026. More information about the contest and prizes will be announced later.

The anime will also appear at Anime Expo 2026, taking place from July 2 to July 5 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Fans can visit the Oshi booth to experience the “Production Walkthrough Gallery”, featuring production materials from Studio M2.
The exhibition will showcase the anime production process, from early sketches to completed animation, giving fans a rare behind-the-scenes look at how the series is made. The Oshi booth will be located at WH-1628 / WH-1630 in the West Hall Entertainment Hall.

GATE 2 SYNOPSIS:
Years after the Gate to another world first opened in Tokyo, Japan now manages the passage under strict control. The JSDF explores the Special Region while the JMSDF sails its seas. Petty Officer Hajime Tokushima, once a chef, now finds himself aboard the submarine Kitashio under Captain Edajima. Their mission: infiltrate Tinae and rescue an abducted journalist. Along the way, they join forces with Princess Primera, the pirate heir Shura no Arch, and the mystical Ship Guardian, Odette Ze Nebula. Together, they face raging wars, pirate fleets, and monstrous sea creatures—testing their resolve as they fight to complete their mission.
