The main promotional video and key visual for the TV anime From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage, based on the original work by Arata Shiraishi and Kentarou, have been unveiled.
The series is scheduled to air on TOKYO MX and other networks starting July 1 at 24:00 (JST). It will also be available for early terrestrial TV pre-release and fastest streaming on d Anime Store, ABEMA, and U-NEXT beginning June 25 at midnight.
In addition, it has been announced that the opening theme song, “+ENCOUNT,” will be performed by FLOW. The ending theme, titled “Doukei”, will be performed by the popular voice actress unit TrySail.

The story is based on the light novel series From Overshadowed to Overpowered: Second Reincarnation of a Talentless Sage, written by Arata Shiraishi. The novels first appeared online in 2018 on Shosetsuka ni Naro before being published in print by Kadokawa in 2019, with illustrations by Uodenim.
An eight-volume manga adaptation illustrated by Kentarou is also available in Japan.
Manga UP! is digitally releasing the official English version of Kentarou‘s manga adaptation, presenting the story as follows:
The Sage of Wind, Ephtal is a reincarnated human, coming from modern Earth. Reincarnated in a new world where magic is real, he decides to devote the entirety of his life in the pursuit of magic.
