Lionsgate has officially launched a worldwide casting search for its upcoming live-action adaptation of Naruto.
As pre-production moves forward, director Destin Daniel Cretton is searching for the three members of Team 7: Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno. Casting for additional characters will be announced at a later date.
Cretton shared that Masashi Kishimoto‘s beloved manga has inspired generations of fans and said he is honored to bring its world to the big screen in live action for the first time.
Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto also expressed his excitement, calling the Hollywood adaptation a “miracle” and saying he looks forward to meeting the actors who will bring his iconic characters to life.

“Right now, miracles are happening to me, one after another. My work, Naruto, is truly, truly becoming a Hollywood movie! And an even greater miracle is that the film will be directed by the one and only Destin Daniel Cretton. I still cannot believe it! If so many miracles have already come together, then let us hope for even more. I am eagerly looking forward to the miraculous encounters that will bring us extraordinary and passionate actors! I cannot wait to meet my characters in the film!”
The upcoming episodes of “NARUTO” will be broadcasted over a span of four weeks at a time yet to be announced, featuring FLOW returning to perform the opening and ending themes.
Both the original “NARUTO””anime and its sequel series, “Naruto Shippuden“, are currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll. The platform describes the series as follows:
