Studio KAI has announced a special panel for its upcoming dark fantasy anime Sentenced to Be a Hero during Anime Expo 2026 in Los Angeles.
Scheduled for July 3, the event will feature members of the anime’s creative team, who will share behind-the-scenes stories about the production and discuss the animation, character action, background art, and creature designs featured in the series.
The panel will also include a live drawing session by Chief Animation Director Kazuki Kimura. The completed illustration will be given away to one lucky attendee.
Fans attending the panel will also receive an exclusive trading card featuring one of four newly illustrated character designs, available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Based on Rocket Shokai‘s light novel series, Sentenced to Be a Hero is receiving a TV anime adaptation produced by Studio KAI. Originally published by KADOKAWA with illustrations by MEPHISTO, the series has also inspired a manga adaptation illustrated by Natsumi Inoue. The anime will stream worldwide on Crunchyroll.
