A new anime project for The Quintessential Quintuplets was officially announced on Saturday, May 2, 2026, during a special event held at Toyota Arena Tokyo. Alongside the announcement, a new visual and a teaser video were revealed, exciting fans of the popular series.
During the event, which featured the full main cast, fans enjoyed games, a live reading of a newly written story, and a music segment with 10 songs from the series.
Two major anime projects were announced:
- The first is an anime adaptation of a sequel novel that takes place after the original story. The novel is written by Hajime Asano under the supervision of creator Negi Haruba. A manga adaptation of this sequel is also in development.
- The second project will adapt manga chapters that were not included in previous anime versions, giving fans the chance to see new scenes animated for the first time.

Originally serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine until February 2020, the manga has surpassed 20 million copies in circulation as of May 2026. The anime first aired in 2019, followed by a second season in 2021. Since then, the franchise has continued to grow with a movie released in 2022 and two TV special anime episodes.
The TV special The Quintessential Quintuplets: No Coincidences in This Summer Break is now available on Crunchyroll in select regions. The special originally aired in Japan in September 2023 and was directed by Yukihiro Miyamoto at SHAFT.
The Quintessential Quintuplets: Operation Quintuplets is also now streaming on Crunchyroll in select regions. This special first aired in Japan in December 2024 and was directed by Masato Jinbo at Bibury Animation Studios.
