Sword Art Online Unveils Special GAME CLEAR Illustration!

Today, on November 7th in the Sword Art Online universe, at 2:55 PM, the game is officially cleared. To mark this milestone, a new illustration featuring Kirito and Asuna has been released, along with a video simulating a Japanese news broadcast covering the players’ awakening.

In celebration of the new visual, the real-life Sword Art Online games will feature collaboration events, and Aniplex will release exclusive merchandise inspired by the new artwork.

The Sword Art Online light novels, authored by Reki Kawahara, transitioned from web novels (2002–2008) to published books in 2009. The two anime series and three released films are currently available for streaming on Crunchyroll, which describes the first season as follows:

In the near future, a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online has been released where players control their avatars with their bodies using a piece of technology called: Nerve Gear. One day, players discover they cannot log out, as the game creator is holding them captive unless they reach the 100th floor of the game’s tower and defeat the final boss. However, if they die in the game, they die in real life. Their struggle for survival starts now…
