WE ARE ALIENS Original Anime Reveals New Konatsu-Focused Trailer and Visual

The “Konatsu Version” trailer and visual for the upcoming animated film WE ARE ALIENS have been released. The film is planned, written, and directed by Kohei Kadowaki.  The film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters on September 25, 2026.

An exhibition titled WE ARE ALIENS – The Journey to Completion has also been announced. It will open on September 25, the same day the film premieres, at Shinjuku Marui Annex in Tokyo.

The new trailer focuses on Konatsu Meguro, Tsubasa’s closest classmate and the heroine of the film. It shows their everyday moments, from exchanging contact books when Konatsu catches a cold to walking home together as high school students. The trailer also features a letter Konatsu writes to Tsubasa when she is absent from school, as well as Tsubasa deciding to talk to her.

Konatsu is voiced by Ten Yamazaki from Sakurazaka46, while Saki Suzuki voices her childhood version.

The WE ARE ALIENS – The Journey to Completion exhibition will showcase the film’s creative process, from the early planning stages to its completion. Visitors will be able to see original drawings, storyboards, and other materials used during production, as well as a recreation of the film’s production space.

Official merchandise, including T-shirts, tote bags, acrylic keychains, and postcards, will also be available. Director Kohei Kadowaki is also scheduled to hold a signing session at the exhibition.
