The Way of the Househusband Celebrates Bunch Comics’ 25th Anniversary With New Anime PV

A brand-new promotional video for The Way of the Househusband has been released, coinciding with the launch of the manga’s 17th volume on June 9. The special anime PV was produced to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Bunch Comics.

Directed by Masatoshi Hakata, the video features original scenes depicting Tatsu’s past that were never shown in the manga. It also introduces characters who have yet to appear in the Netflix anime adaptation, making this anniversary project a unique experience for longtime fans.

The commemorative PV will be screened during the Bunch Comics 25th Anniversary Original Art Exhibition, which opens on June 13 at Gallery Zenon in Tokyo. The exhibition will showcase framed artwork from 25 manga creators, including works from The Way of the Househusband, alongside approximately 80 illustrations.

Visitors will also be able to view commemorative shikishi boards created by renowned manga artists such as Tetsuo Hara, Tsukasa Hojo, and Ryuji Tsugihara.

Written and illustrated by Kousuke Oono, The Way of the Househusband has been serialized in Shinchosha‘s Kurage Bunch magazine since February 2018. The popular comedy series inspired a live-action television drama in 2020, a live-action film in 2022, and a multi-season anime adaptation that aired from April 2021 to January 2023.

The manga is published in English by VIZ Media, which describes the story as follows:

A former yakuza legend leaves it all behind to become your everyday househusband. But it’s not easy to walk away from the gangster life, and what should be mundane household tasks are anything but!
