Ayane Sakura has been cast as Pina in the upcoming TV anime adaptation of The One Within the Villainess. Alongside the casting announcement, a new teaser visual and a “Heroine” promotional video have also been unveiled. The anime is currently scheduled to premiere in 2027.

Makiburo originally self-published the story, known in Japan as Akuyaku Reijo no Naka no Hito, on the web novel platform Shōsetsuka ni Narō in May 2020. The publisher Ichijinsha later began releasing the series in print in February 2021.
A manga adaptation illustrated by Nazuna Shiraumi was serialized in Comic Lake from November 2021 until May 2025.
The story of Within the Villainess is described as follows:
After losing her life in an accident, Emi is reincarnated as a young noble girl named Remilia Rose Graupner.
Remilia is the most feared villainess in a certain otome game, and Emi’s beloved “fave”.
Moved by the loneliness that once left the original Remilia with nothing but resentment toward the world, Emi resolves to make her happy with her own hands. Through tireless effort and her natural kindness, she gradually brings to those around her.
