THE DARWIN INCIDENT Anime Set for January 2026 Premiere, New Teaser Unveiled

Based on the award-winning manga by Shun Umezawa.

The TV anime adaptation of THE DARWIN INCIDENT, based on Shun Umezawa’s original work, is set to premiere in January 2026. Alongside the announcement, a teaser PV and a second teaser visual have been released.

THE DARWIN INCIDENT, winner of the prestigious Manga Taisho and an Excellence Award at the Japanese Media Arts Festival, combines thrilling action with profound social commentary.

KODANSHA USA handles the English version of the manga, and describes the first volume as follows:

The Animal Liberation Alliance, an eco-terrorist organization, rescues a pregnant chimpanzee from an animal testing lab-only for it to give birth to a half-human, half-chimpanzee “humanzee” named Charlie! Fifteen years later, Charlie’s human foster parents are finally ready to send him to a normal high school, where he makes his first friend: a human girl named Lucy. In the meantime, however, the ALA’s stance has become ever more extreme, and now they’re here to drag Charlie into their terrorist plot…
