Tanuki to Kitsune Gets TV Anime for 10th Anniversary

The series has sold over 1.3 million copies in Japan.

Atamoto’s Tanuki to Kitsune is getting a TV anime adaptation, set to air from October. Previously, the series had been adapted into a short anime for streaming, but the full TV anime is being produced to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026.

Additionally, an anniversary project featuring new illustrations by Atamoto is also in progress. Fans can look forward to more details about the TV anime and the anniversary project soon.

Tanuki to Kitsune follows the everyday life of a slightly absent-minded raccoon dog and a mischievous fox. The series has published 10 volumes, along with three picture books, and has sold over 1.3 million copies in total.
