The series has sold over 1.3 million copies in Japan.

Atamoto’s Tanuki to Kitsune is getting a TV anime adaptation, set to air from October. Previously, the series had been adapted into a short anime for streaming, but the full TV anime is being produced to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026.
