SynergySP to Produce Hikuidori Anime for Winter 2026

In the Edo era, a team of heroes saved countless lives.

Shogo Imamura’s novel Hikuidori, the first installment in the Ushūboro Tobigumi series, is set to receive both a manga adaptation in the spring and a TV anime adaptation in the Winter 2026. The anime will be produced by SynergySP. Alongside this announcement, a key visual and a teaser PV have been unveiled.

The Ushūboro Tobigumi series has been published by Shodensha up to 13 volumes. Fire Eater is based on the historical events of the Great Fire of Meiwa and follows the story of Gengo Matsunaga, a fire-fighting samurai renowned as the best in Edo. Alongside his eccentric fire brigade, the Boroho-gumi, he strives to protect the people of Edo from the ever-present threat of devastating fires.
