A brand-new original Sword Art Online movie has officially been titled Sword Art Online the Movie – Integral Domain –. The film is scheduled to premiere in Japanese theaters in 2028.
Alongside the announcement, the first teaser visual was revealed, as well as the main staff and cast. The movie is an original story and is the same theatrical project that was first announced in 2022.

The Sword Art Online franchise is based on the light novels written by Reki Kawahara and illustrated by abec. Published by ASCII Media Works under the Dengeki Bunko label, the series currently has 29 volumes.
The anime franchise includes the main Sword Art Online series, the movie Sword Art Online the Movie -Ordinal Scale-, and spin-off titles such as Sword Art Online Progressive and Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online.
The original light novels are published in English by Yen Press, which describes the story as follows:
