STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT Game Gets August 2026 Release Date

MAGES. has officially announced that STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT will launch in Japan on August 20, 2026. Alongside the announcement, the company also released a new opening movie on YouTube featuring the original theme song “Skyclad Observer” performed by Kanako Ito.

Opening Movie:

The original STEINS;GATE visual novel first launched in Japan for Xbox 360 on October 15, 2009. Since then, the game has been released on many platforms and later received an updated version called STEINS;GATE ELITE, which used scenes from the anime adaptation.

STEINS;GATE RE:BOOT is a new reimagining of the classic visual novel. The game includes updated graphics, a revised story based on the ELITE script, and brand-new world lines and endings.

The game will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. The Japanese version will also include English subtitles.

Steins; Gate follows an eclectic group of individuals who have the ability to send text messages to the past. However throughout their experimentation process, an organization named SERN who has been doing their own research on time travel tracks them down. Now it’s a careful game of cat and mouse to not get caught and moreover, try to survive.
