The official poster visual for SHIRANUI, the upcoming short animated film written and directed by Ryo Katanosaka, has been unveiled ahead of its Japanese premiere on August 21.
Newly released videos also offer a behind-the-scenes look at Ano, who voices the protagonist Minato. One recording session clip captures Ano’s interactions with Ben-chan, a character voiced by Kana Hanazawa, providing fans with a glimpse into the film’s production process.
In a separate interview video, Ano discusses their reaction to being cast in the project, shares thoughts on some of the film’s most memorable scenes, and reflects on the guidance and direction provided by Ryo Katanosaka throughout production.

Summer 1996 – Minato, a 10-year-old boy, is neglected by his alcoholic father and keeps to himself at home in a town by the sea. His only source of solace is Ben-chan, a girl goddess that appears on Benten Island. As Minato faces a new life in an orphanage and a painful parting from Ben-chan, he makes a wish to Shiranui for her. However, growing hatred toward his father gradually turns the wish into a malicious “curse” against him…
