SAKAMOTO DAYS Live-Action Film Gets Immersive SCREENX Screenings

27 theaters across Japan!

The SCREENX version of the live-action film SAKAMOTO DAYS, based on the manga by Yuto Suzuki, will be shown in 27 theaters across Japan starting April 29, the film’s release date.

A new visual and promotional video for the SCREENX screenings have also been unveiled. SCREENX is an immersive projection format that extends the movie onto the left and right walls in addition to the main screen.

Action Scene Supervisor: Keiya Taguchi (Attack on Titan live-action films, Shin Kamen Rider)

The series has been running in Weekly Shonen Jump since November 2020. Its anime adaptation aired its first cour from January to March 2025, followed by the second cour from July to September 2025 on Netflix.

MANGAPlus describes the story as follows:

Taro Sakamoto was the ultimate assassin, feared by villains and admired by hitmen. But one day…he fell in love! Retirement, marriage, fatherhood and then… Sakamoto gained weight! The chubby guy who runs the neighborhood? store is actually a former legendary hitman! Can he protect his family from danger? Get ready to experience a new kind of action comedy series!
