The upcoming Japanese-language adaptation of Paws & Palaces, based on the 2025 donghua series, has revealed a new teaser visual, along with a character trailer and new artwork for Soubi, voiced by Kazuki Ura.
The series will premiere in Japan on October 10, 2026, with a special broadcast featuring the first four episodes. New episodes will then be released weekly on Wednesdays starting October 14.

Based on the webcomic Forbidden City: Cat Imperial Study by A’Nan and Daitu, the donghua originally aired from December 2025 to March 2026 with 16 episodes.
The story follows six cats living in China’s Forbidden City. While visitors know them as ordinary cats, they secretly protect the palace’s treasures by entering their inner worlds and fighting against a mysterious demon called the Black Owl.
