YOASOBI Breaks Records Again: “Idol” Surpasses 1 Billion Streams

YOASOBI‘s “Idol” has become only the second song in Oricon charts to surpass 1 billion streams, according to the latest Oricon Weekly Streaming Chart released on November 26th, following the success of “Yoru ni Kakeru”.

The track garnered 1,703,028 streams during the week, bringing its cumulative total to 1,001,263,79. It reached this milestone in its 137th week since first entering the chart on April 24, 2023. During the ‘1 Billion Play Breakthrough Weeks,’ it made history by surpassing the record set by “Yoru ni Kakeru”, becoming the fastest to achieve this milestone in Oricon history.”

In the Oricon Weekly Streaming Chart, YOASOBI stands out as the only artist to surpass 1 billion cumulative streams. The song, released on April 12, 2023, served as the opening theme for the TV anime OSHI NO KO, which premiered the same month.
