Tokyo Ghoul x Dead by Daylight: Ken Kaneki Joins the Horror Game

Tokyo Ghoul’s Ken Kaneki has come to Dead by Daylight, with a twist...

The TV anime Tokyo Ghoul, written by Sui Ishida, collaborates with Dead by Daylight, featuring Ken Kaneki as a playable character. The collaboration chapter Dead by Daylight: Tokyo Ghoul will be released on Steam and other platforms on April 3rd. Ahead of its launch, a public test build is available on Steam for a limited time starting today, March 12th, allowing players to experience the new content in advance.

In the game, he is known as The Ghoul, and the Dead by Daylight website explains how he became one of the game’s killers rather than following the path he took in the anime:

When one is pushed to the brink of pain, subjected to cruelty beyond measure, it’s only a matter of time before one finds renewed purpose in the abyss. In the process of surviving his brutal torture at the hands of Jason, Kaneki came to terms with the terrifying nature of the ghoul within him, using it to defeat his tormentor.

His release from one nightmare saw him pulled directly into another, as The Entity chose this moment to lure Kaneki into The Fog, transforming him into a cruel killing machine. Everything from his appearance to his demeanor has been affected, fueled by an insatiable appetite for human flesh. As fate would have it, there will be plenty to feast on in The Fog…

The Tokyo Ghoul Collection, showcasing characters and outfits from Tokyo Ghoul, is set for release on April 3. Alongside Kaneki’s Toshiyo Kamishiro-inspired ensemble, the collection includes the Rabbit Costume, Hide’s Costume, Eto’s Costume, and specially designed masks for survivors.

Crunchyroll currently streams the Tokyo Ghoul anime, and describes the series as follows:

Haise Sasaki has been tasked with teaching Qs Squad how to be outstanding investigators, but his assignment is complicated by the troublesome personalities of his students and his own uncertain grasp of his Ghoul powers. Can he pull them together as a team, or will Qs Squad first assignment be their last?
