TMS Entertainment will absorb and merge with its subsidiary Telecom Animation Film, according to a merger announcement published in Japan’s Official Gazette on February 16.
As part of the merger, TMS will take over all of Telecom’s rights and obligations. Telecom Animation Film will then be dissolved.
Founded in 1975, Telecom has contributed to many well-known anime titles, including Lupin the 3rd films and television seasons, Tower of God, The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse and BLUE BOX.
According to TMS’s corporate website, Telecom reported a net loss of 346 million yen for the fiscal year ending March 2025 and was insolvent. TMS did not disclose its own net income but reported dividend payments totaling 2.091 billion yen.
