At Anime NYC, a new documentary titled The Roots of To Your Eternity was officially announced. The documentary will stream worldwide on Crunchyroll (excluding Japan) starting August 29, 2025, serving as a lead-up to the anime’s highly anticipated third season, which premieres on October 4, 2025.
The documentary explores the creation of the series, featuring interviews with original manga author Yoshitoki Oima, Season 2 Director and Season 3 Chief Director Kiyoko Sayama, and more. Narration will be provided by Kenjiro Tsuda, the voice of The Beholder.

It was announced that the renowned pop group Perfume will perform the opening theme for the upcoming season, titled “Fumetsu no Anata”.

In the beginning, an “orb” is cast unto Earth. “It” can do two things: change into the form of the thing that stimulates “it”; and come back to life after death. “It” morphs from orb to rock, then to wolf, and finally to boy, but roams about like a newborn who knows nothing. As a boy, “it” becomes Fushi. Through encounters with human kindness, Fushi not only gains survival skills, but grows as a “person”. But his journey is darkened by the inexplicable and destructive enemy Nokker, as well as cruel partings with the people he loves.
