The spin-off manga The Mononoke Journal by Chuzenji-sensei, written by Aki Shimizu and serving as a prequel to Hyakki Yako, which has exceeded 10 million copies in circulation, has been confirmed for an anime adaptation set to release in 2025.
Along with the anime announcement, a teaser visual has been revealed. In celebration of the adaptation, Aki Shimizu and Natsuhiko Kyogoku have also shared their thoughts.
