The TV broadcast debut of The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors is set for April 5, 2024, in Japan, with a newly released trailer building anticipation for its arrival. This anime series will consist of 12 episodes. Prior to its television airing, the show was showcased through theatrical pre-screenings in Japan, divided into three parts: October 27, 2023, November 24, 2023, and January 5, 2024.

The anime adaptation of The Idolmaster: Shiny Colors draws inspiration from its namesake game, initially released as a browser game on the enza website in April 2018. It later expanded its reach by launching as a mobile game for iOS and Android devices in March 2019. In the game, players assume the role of a budding producer at 283 Production, entrusted with the task of nurturing and managing a diverse array of idols.
