The hit anime The Apothecary Diaries has revealed its new seasonal visual, spotlighting ginkgo alongside characters Ah-Duo and Lishu. This new artwork arrives as excitement continues to build around the franchise’s upcoming slate of major projects.

The third season of The Apothecary Diaries is officially set to air as a split two-cour series. The first half will premiere in October 2026, followed by the second half in April 2027. Direction will once again be led by Akinori Fudesaka, who previously helmed Season 2.
Fans can also look forward to a brand-new feature film scheduled for December 2026 in Japan. The movie will introduce an all-new story penned by the light novel’s original author Natsu Hyuuga. The film will be directed by Norihiro Naganuma, known for directing Season 1 and serving as chief director and series composer for Season 2.
The Apothecary Diaries is based on the light novels by Natsu Hyuuga and Touko Shino. Crunchyroll streams the series and describes it:
Maomao lived a peaceful life with her apothecary father. Until one day, she’s sold as a lowly servant to the emperor’s palace. But she wasn’t meant for a compliant life among royalty. So when imperial heirs fall ill, she decides to step in and find a cure! This catches the eye of Jinshi, a handsome palace official who promotes her. Now, she’s making a name for herself solving medical mysteries!
