On the game’s official website, development producer Kim Gwang Hoon emphasized that ARISE OVERDRIVE is a standalone experience, separate from Solo Leveling: ARISE, which will continue to receive its own updates and evolution.
The announcement comes as interest in the franchise continues to rise, thanks to the Solo Leveling anime adaptation currently, from the hit Korean webtoon by DUBU (REDICE Studio), Chugong, and h-goon, streaming on Crunchyroll.
Crunchyroll describes the anime serie as this:
They say whatever doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, but that’s not the case for the world’s weakest hunter Sung Jinwoo. After being brutally slaughtered by monsters in a high-ranking dungeon, Jinwoo came back with the System, a program only he could see, that’s leveling him up in every way.
Now, he’s inspired to discover the secrets behind his powers and the dungeon that spawned them.
