The TV anime Sentenced to Be a Hero has officially postponed its broadcast debut from October to January 2026. Additionally, it was announced that the first episode will be a 60-minute extended special.
A special livestream event revealing new information about the anime is scheduled for July 26 at 7:00 p.m. JST.
Regarding the change in the broadcast date, the production committee behind Sentenced to Be a Hero stated: “To further enhance the quality of the series and ensure it reaches audiences in a way that best showcases its appeal, we have decided to postpone the broadcast start date.”

The light novel series Sentenced to Be a Hero debuted in 2021 and has since amassed five volumes as of August 2023. Published by KADOKAWA under the Dengeki no Shibungei label, the series features illustrations by MEPHISTO.

Heroism—a punishment for only the worst criminals. Those sentenced to the fate of a hero are forced to fight on the front lines against deadly centers of contagion that rot the land and turn its creatures into roving armies of violent beasts.
