SEATBELTS, the legendary band led by composer Yoko Kanno, will perform live in Spain for the first time ever on Friday, December 5th at MANGA BARCELONA. This historic concert marks the band’s first international show since their formation in 1998.

Known for their energetic mix of jazz, blues, funk, and experimental sounds, SEATBELTS are best known for the iconic Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. Their music including fan favorites like “Tank!”, “Rush”, and “Space Lion”, helped define the unique style of the acclaimed anime.
The concert will also feature Mai Yamane, the original vocalist behind tracks such as “The Real Folk Blues”, “Blue”, “Don’t Bother None”, and “Gotta Knock a Little Harder”.

Yoko Kanno is set to perform at MANGA BARCELONA with SEATBELTS in their first-ever international concert. Joining her is legendary Japanese saxophonist Masato Honda, known for his iconic solo in “Tank!” and as a founding member of the band.
He’ll be accompanied by guitarist Tsuneo Imahori, double bassist Keisuke Torigoe, drummer Yasuo Sano, and SEATBELTS’ longtime sound engineers.
The concert will also feature a powerful collaboration with Spanish saxophonist Kike Perdomo and his Big Band de Canarias, personally selected by Kanno to enhance the brass section.
To celebrate the occasion, a limited-edition SEATBELTS T-shirt will be released exclusively for the event.

Famous composer Yoko Kanno, known for her music in Macross Plus, The Vision of Escaflowne, Wolf’s Rain, Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, and Kids on the Slope, will be a special guest at MANGA BARCELONA 2025.

She will join Cowboy Bebop director Shinichiro Watanabe for a special on-stage talk about music and anime. Watanabe is also a guest at the event. This rare conversation will give fans a unique chance to hear from two of the most important creators in anime history.
