Mamoru Hosoda’s latest film, Scarlet, features an ending theme titled “Hateshinaki”, with lyrics written by the director himself. The song is performed by Mana Ashida, who voices Princess Scarlett in the movie. Alongside the announcement, a special promotional video featuring the song “Endless” has also been released.
The movie is set to premiere in Japanese theaters on November 21, followed by a U.S. release on December 12.

According to Variety, the story revolves around a princess who journeys across time and space. During the announcement event for Scarlet, Hosoda revealed that the film employs a unique animation style, distinct from both traditional 2D and Hollywood-style CGI. The narrative will explore profound themes of life and death, complemented by elements of action and romance.
