Director Ryuya Suzuki’s original feature-length anime Mumei no Jinsei will begin its theatrical release in Japan on May 16, starting at Tokyo’s Shinjuku Musashino-kan. Rapper ACE COOL voices the lead character.
Seizing the opportunity presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, director Suzuki self-taught himself to create the short anime MAHOROBA in 2021, earning multiple awards at independent film festivals in Japan. The Nameless Life is his debut feature film, which he spent a year and a half producing.

The story begins with a lonely boy who is bullied and dreams of following in his father’s footsteps to become an idol.
In addition to directing Mumei no Jinsei, Suzuki is also credited for the draft, animation direction, background art direction, compositing direction, color design, character design, music, and editing. Meanwhile, Kenji Iwaisawa, known for his work on On-Gaku: Our Sound as scriptwriter, storyboard artist, character designer, animation director, and background art director, is credited as the producer.
