Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid an anime film adaptation from the light novel series, is currently in Japanese theaters since December 1, 2023 and presents a new trailer. Directed by Soichi Masui at CloverWorks, the film is part of the Rascal Does Not Dream series written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keiji Mizoguchi, published by ASCII Media Works.
This film follows previous adaptations, including a 2018 TV anime Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, a 2019 theatrical anime film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl, and another 2023 theatrical anime film Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out.
Synopsis:
Puberty syndrome – Abnormal experiences rumored on the internet to be caused by sensitivity and instability during adolescence. This year, Sakuta Azusagawa, a second-year student at a high school near Enoshima, meets several girls that are experiencing this “puberty syndrome.” For instance, he meets a wild bunny girl in the library. She turns out to be an actress on hiatus, Mai Sakurajima, who is also his senior at the school. For some reason, no one else can see this enchanting girl. How did she become invisible…?
