Akatsuki Games is bringing the heat to Anime Expo 2025 with the debut of Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME, the highly anticipated adaptation of Japan’s explosive new anime phenomenon. Located in the Entertainment Hall, the immersive booth experience invites fans to dive headfirst into the action-packed world of Kaiju No. 8.
Attendees at Anime Expo will be the first in North America to try out the game and take part in exclusive fan experiences at a fully immersive booth.

Based on the hit manga series by Naoya Matsumoto, Kaiju No. 8 is an anime adaptation of the ongoing manga serialized on Shonen Jump+ (published by Shueisha) since 2020. As of April 2025, the manga has over 18 million copies in circulation in Japan and has accumulated more than 700 million views on Shonen Jump+.
Kaiju No. 8 became a breakout hit during its original broadcast from April to June 2024, consistently topping daily streaming charts across major platforms in Japan. A theatrical compilation of Season 1 was released on March 28, 2025, accompanied by a special feature titled Hoshina’s Day Off. The much-anticipated Season 2 is officially set to premiere on July 19.

Kaiju No. 8 THE GAME – STORY:
Mysterious gates known as the Kaiju Dimensional Gates have suddenly appeared due to the actions of a certain Kaiju. In this new Kaiju No. 8 world, where Kaiju with unknown powers appear not only in Japan but across the globe, Identified Kaiju that were once thought to be defeated now confront the Defense Force by passing through these Kaiju Dimensional Gates.
On top of that, unknown Kaiju possessing special abilities—and seemingly responsible for the creation of these Kaiju Dimensional Gates—continue to cross over the boundary between dimensions to launch their attacks. Their appearance has led to a series of battles against colossal Kaiju.
