Orelsan Goes Global With Lilas (YOASOBI), FIFTY FIFTY, and Thomas Bangalter

With over 3 million albums sold, Orelsan has become one of the defining figures of French music, evolving far beyond rap through a body of work spanning music, film, and documentary. After the massive success of “La fête est finie” and “Civilisation”, 12 Victoires de la Musique, and a record-breaking tour in 2022, he returns with “La Fuite En Avant“, his fifth studio album a deeply personal project tied to his new feature film Yoroï.

Produced with long-time collaborators Phazz, Eddie Purple and Grammy winner Skread, the 17-track album explores major life transitions: friendship, burnout, relationships, pregnancy, and becoming a father. It expands the narrative introduced in Yoroï, creating a unified musical and visual universe.

Orelsan also opens his world to major international artists. Japanese singer-songwriter Lilas (ikura from YOASOBI) appears on one track, marking a collaboration both describe as meaningful and instinctive.

Rising K-pop group FIFTY FIFTY, whose hit “Cupid – Twin Version” surpassed 900 million streams, contributes to the film’s soundtrack. The album also features a rare appearance by Thomas Bangalter, co-founder of Daft Punk, along with French artists Yamê and SDM.

A lifelong fan of Japanese pop culture and the French voice of Saitama in One Punch Man, Orelsan pushes this connection further with Yoroï — released in France, Belgium, and Switzerland on October 29. Shot partly in Osaka, the film follows Aurélien as he moves to Japan with his pregnant wife. After discovering a mysterious suit of armor he cannot remove, he must confront his fears embodied as Japanese yōkai, ultimately embracing fatherhood.

This expansive artistic cycle will continue live: the 2026 tour has already sold 300,000 tickets in 24 hours, with 40 dates announced including an unprecedented 10-night run at Paris’ Accor Arena.
