Once Upon a Witch’s Death Anime First “Situation Visual” Released!

New cast members for the TV anime “Once Upon a Witch’s Death” have been announced, along with the unveiling of the first “Situation Visual”. The anime, set to air in 2025, is being produced by Studio EMT Squared.

Once Upon a Witch’s Death is a light novel series written by Saka, which began serialization on the Kakuyomu website in October 2019 and ended in August 2022. The print version of the novel is being published by Kadokawa and features illustrations by Chorefuji . Yen Press takes care of serializing the novel into English. A manga adaptation of the series, illustrated by Kenu Amearare, is currently in publication.

Yen Press describes Once Upon a Witch’s Death Synopsis as follows:
On Meg’s seventeenth birthday, she learns that she only has one year left to live. Her mentor—the Eternal Witch, Faust—explains that she is cursed and the only way to save herself is to grow a seed of life using one thousand tears of joy. Of course, such tears aren’t easy to come by. As Meg begins her quest, she finds herself drawn into the lives of her friends and neighbors in ways she never imagined. By sharing their burdens and using her magic to comfort them, she learns how precious those moments of connection can be even in the face of death.
