TOHO Movies announced the release date for the 31st 2D animated film in the Crayon Shin-chan franchise, titled Crayon Shin-chan the Movie: Our Dinosaur Diary, set to premiere in Japanese theaters on August 9.

The trailer introduces the film’s theme park setting, Dino’s Island, and offers 75,000 advance tickets bundled with a capsule charm of Dinosaur Shin-chan. The story revolves around the friendship between the Nobara family’s pet dog Shiro and a small dinosaur, aiding in the growth of Shinnosuke and the Kusakabe Defense Squad.
Directed by Shinobu Sasaki and written by Moral, known for their work on Duel Masters and the Crayon Shin-chan TV series, respectively. This follows the success of Shin Jigen! Crayon Shin-chan The Movie, the franchise’s first 3D CG anime film, released on August 4, which became the highest-earning anime film in the Crayon Shin-chan series. Additionally, Eiga Crayon Shin-chan Mononoke Ninja Chinpūden, the 30th 2D animated film, debuted in Japan in April 2022.
