A brand-new animated project for Onegai☆Teacher (also known as Please Teacher!) has officially launched in Japan through a crowdfunding campaign on Motion Gallery. The new anime will include two separate stories: one focusing on Mizuho and Kei, and another centered on Koishi and Ichigo.

In Japan, the new animation will be distributed in two ways: as a Blu-ray reward for crowdfunding supporters and through a series of planned in-person screenings. As of now, the campaign has gathered ¥1.87 million (approximately $12,000 USD) from 67 backers, with 120 days left to reach its ¥25 million (around $160,000 USD) goal.
The production team has stated that the project will move forward even if the target amount is not met. Production is scheduled to begin this December, with completion targeted for around April–May 2026.
Fans of the original series will be pleased to know that the main cast is returning. The lineup includes Kikuko Inoue, Soichiro Hoshi, Yukari Tamura, and Ayako Kawasumi, all reprising their iconic roles.

Originally airing in 2002, Please Teacher! ran for 13 episodes and later inspired the 2003 spin-off series Please Twins. According to Crunchyroll’s synopsis, the series follows:
Kei Kusanagi isn’t your typical 15-year-old high school student. He’s actually an 18-year-old with a rare disorder that puts him into what he calls, a “standstill”! When he was younger, this disorder left him in a deep coma which stunted his growth for three years. Mizuho Kazami isn’t your typical teacher, either. She’s actually an alien sent by the Galaxy Federation to observe the Earth! As the sole human being with knowledge of Ms. Kazumi’s secret, Kei must… marry her?! Homework, dating, and a gorgeous wife – going to school has never been quite this fun!
