The first main promotional video for the upcoming TV anime My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero’s has been released, along with details about the opening theme and additional cast members. The anime is set to premiere in October.
The opening theme, titled “Issen”, will be performed by the virtual girl duo VESPERBELL. The PV features appearances by characters Black Cat, Lia Lagoon, and Saran Mithray, and includes a preview of the opening song.

The series first appeared on the user-generated novel publishing website Shousetsuka ni Narou in January 2017. In November 2017, Japanese publisher Overlap began releasing a print edition under its Overlap Bunko imprint, featuring illustrations by Tozai. To date, four volumes have been published in Japan. Additionally, a manga adaptation by Hiroyuki Gogamo is serialized on the web manga site Comic Gardo, with the latest six tankōbon volumes.
