The My Happy Marriage anime adaptation is based on the light novel series by Akumi Akitogi currently published by Yen Press in English—streams on Netflix and is described as such:

Despite being born into a noble family famous for its supernatural abilities, having lost her birth mother at a young age, Miyo grows up forced into a life of servitude by her abusive stepmother.

When she receives news that she is to be married off, her hopes of being whisked away to a better life crumble after she discovers her fiancé’s identity: Kiyoka Kudou, a military commander with a cruel and ruthless reputation. In fact, so much so, that all his previous fiancés fled within three days of their engagements.

Resigned to face her fate, Miyo will soon find out that her pale and beautiful husband-to-be is anything but the monster she expected. As they slowly open their hearts to each other, both will come to realize that the other may be their only chance at finding true love and happiness in life.
