My Aggravating Sovereign Gets Light Anime Adaptation on BUMP

Enjoy the sweet and hectic, sometimes heartburn-inducing life of Aria and Julius.

The popular series My Aggravating Sovereign is getting a “light anime” adaptation, similar to a motion comic. The short-form series will begin streaming today, September 11, on the Japanese short drama app BUMP.

The adaptation will feature Ikumi Hasegawa as Aria Von Winterhardt and Kaito Ishikawa as Julius Otis Rosenberg. A total of 25 episodes are planned, each running about 2–3 minutes.

Official synopsis by WEBTOON:

Aria’s world is thrown into chaos when Crown Prince Julius, the brilliant but insufferable royal she’s sworn to protect as Captain of his Guard, announces her as his future bride. Stunned, Aria confronts him, and Julius offers a way out: if she can defeat him in any competition before the wedding in six months, he’ll cancel the engagement. But with Julius’ unmatched skills, winning won’t be easy. Can Aria outsmart the talented prince and reclaim her life?
